What do you think when you hear the term direct sales? Network marketing? Or MLM? Does it send shivers down your spine or do you get excited about what it could mean? In short, direct sales is simply a way of getting a product directly into the hands of consumers via independent consultants. But I’m not writing this to sell you on the concept of direct sales, instead the purpose is to tell you why Paparazzi Jewelry is an amazing opportunity for me. If you decide to join me your benefits will probably look different than mine. That, my friends, is the beauty of this business. You decide what works and what doesn’t and you decide what is important to you. Although direct sales is often touted as “work at home! Be there for your family! Decide your own income!” – there are more subtle (and maybe more important) benefits, too.
When I started with Paparazzi in 2014, I had 4 kids under the age of 5 and my hubby was in grad school. (can we say STRESSFUL?!? lol). Although I initially joined Paparazzi with the intention of making a bit of money for swimming lessons and ice cream cones for the kids, it quickly became apparent that this was good for my mental health. I was a stay at home mom in a new city and no local friends (actually that is true today, too!). Having Paparazzi gave me adult conversations and quick friendships with teammates. The sisterhood in our team was and still is incredible. I needed a break at times but due to our financial situation at the time it wasn’t realistic for us to hire a babysitter or get away. These online friendships were really the only break I got. They started because of Paparazzi but quickly evolved into deep discussions about kids, marriages, goals and all the things that bind friends together. We get recognized for hard work, for big and small victories, and encouraged when things are rough. The emotional support was an unexpected reason that Paparazzi jewelry is an amazing opportunity.
Shortly before starting Paparazzi, I remember I had “splurged” and bought myself this beautiful green bead necklace and worn it to a MOPS meeting. I got so many compliments and I was nearly in tears. It had been so long since I had felt like “me”. I know you other moms out there understand exactly what I mean. We go so many sleepless nights, we go without so our kids can have, we focus on our spouses – that we forget to take care of ourselves or we think we’ll get to her later. The time is now! Paparazzi allowed me to have beautiful accessories at a price I could afford to help me get back to being me.
While I never anticipated using Paparazzi as a significant means of income, once I realized it could become one then I was even more grateful for the flexibility that came along with it. I could work while my kids were in bed. I could involve them and I often used the weekends for events and home parties. I would never have this flexibility with a traditional job. Now almost 7 years later I can school my kids at home during the day, attend their events in the evenings and have time for me and the hubs, too. Some days are busier than others. Some days I work Paparazzi more than others. And that is the beauty of it! I get to choose!
Paparazzi is an amazing opportunity for me for all the reasons listed above but obviously money has become a part of it as well. It was never my intention to go big or go home but I hit profit zone just two weeks after I bought my kit (and they used to be way more expensive!! 🙂 ) and I realized this could be better than a part-time job for me. Due to our family circumstances and situation at the time we had decided I needed to be home with the kids. This has been such a gift for me to be home AND still be able to contribute financially to make up those little extras and to pay off debt. (You can view Paparazzi’s income disclosure here.) I track my hours carefully and have a certain amount I am committed to working every week. Keeping track of income/expenses and treating this like a business has ensured that I maintain a profit on my sales.
Your situation will most likely be different than mine. But maybe you see yourself in my story, too. Could Paparazzi Jewelry be an amazing opportunity for you as well? Come follow me over on Facebook to learn more or contact me directly.
