Congrats! You have started your Paparazzi journey – or maybe you’re still contemplating the jump (just do it). Now is the time to start planning your Paparazzi Accessories launch party. If you think it sounds a bit like sending a rocket ship to outer space that is because it is exactly like that! You are preparing to launch yourself into a whole new orbit. Are you ready for the adventure? Here are 8 tips for hosting a successful Paparazzi Accessories launch party. (For additional tips in starting your journey click here.)
1. Location, location, location.
Decide your date, time and location. It is easiest to do a Paparazzi Accessories launch party in a place you are comfortable. Choose your own backyard, your favorite coffee shop (if they let you), a best friend’s living room, etc. You want to feel confident and prepared for your launch party so make sure the location can accommodate that need.
Make a list of everyone you want to invite. Really. Write the names down. Think of all the circles where you know people and choose friends from each of them. Examples include work, church, play dates, mom groups, volunteer organizations, bank, post office, friends, family. Write down at least 50 names and then decide how you will invite them. Will you choose text, phone calls, in-person or Facebook? Lastly, why would people want to attend your launch party? The whole business is based around value and service. What will your guests get out of attending the party? What type of phrasing might you use on the invitation to make it specific to each guest? Do they love fashion jewelry? Do they love social settings? Are they going on a trip and need new accessories? Has it been a really long time since they have felt good about themselves? Get your invites out (ask for RSVPs) and then move on to the next step.
3) Paparazzi Accessories launch party supplies
You will want to make sure you have everything organized and ready for your open house. Business supplies such as pens, lead slips, Paparazzi bags, smaller bags to separate the jewelry at checkout, a calculator, mirrors, etc. You do not need to spend a lot of money on displays but a few jewelry busts or other ways to nicely present the jewelry will be useful. A credit card reader, cash, change and business cards should also be in your supplies.
The beginning kits will come with 35 pieces of inventory. If you started with this kit, display your 35 pieces but also have your laptop or tablet ready to take orders directly from the replicated website. I recommend at least 100 pieces of inventory to have a really successful Paparazzi Accessories launch party. The middle or large kits would provide you with this amount. Women love to have choices and it will surprise you what some people choose. Curate a wide variety of colors, lengths, and styles in your jewelry choices so there will really be something for everyone.
5) Host your Paparazzi Accessories Launch Party
It is party day! Rule number one: Have FUN! Even if things go wrong (because Murphy’s law, right?) put a smile on your face and fake it till you make it! Thank every person who walks through the door. Assist people with what they need but don’t push the jewelry on them. Give them space to just have fun and give an authentic compliment to each person if you can. Although it seems counterintuitive, this day is actually not about you at all. It is all about your future customers. How can you serve them?
6) Add “sparkles” as you go
I once heard someone refer to these bits of information in conversations as sparkles. I think it is a perfect description. Adding sparkles means you are giving small bits of information regarding Paparazzi and it’s value as you go. This means you are not holding someone hostage in the corner telling them every detail about the business opportunity. Instead, this means listening to what your guest is saying. For example if Mary says “I love everything here. I want to buy it all but my bank account doesn’t agree with me”, you can nonchalantly say “oh, did you know hostesses earn their favorite jewelry for free?” and then Walk Away. That’s it. Leave sparkles in every conversation. Help your guests to feel good about themselves. Observe and listen. Compliment and get to know them. Invite them to shop or host a party or even join your team. You do all these things without going for the jugular. Instead, just drop a sparkle and then move on.
7) Reflect, Rinse, Repeat
Once the open house is finished and your happy guests have gone on their way, take a few minutes to write down what went well, what you wished you had done differently, additional supplies you need, how you would change your display. Really. Write it down. Take an inventory of your own emotions as well – how do you feel? Are you feeling excited? Passionate? Happy? After a few reflections and some rest get ready for the next step of your Paparazzi Accessories Launch Party. (Oh, you thought you were done? ha!)
Yes, it’s true. Fortune is in the follow-up! Gather your lead slips from the launch party (you did have people fill them out, right? ;)) and contact each person who gave you their information. Thank them for coming. Ask them how many compliments they have gotten with their new jewelry. Invite them to join your jewelry group on Facebook or host a party. Give them a next step – what happens now that they know how awesome $5 jewelry is? How can they get more? Can you provide more value for your customers? How do your customers feel after their Paparazzi experience? Build relationships and remember it always about serving your customer.
