My son is in year 2 of Ambleside Online. Up until this point I’ve been wandering along in our homeschooling journey. Trying this. Trying that. Not worrying if something didn’t get done. No stress here if we take a day off on a whim.
I just completed my lesson plans for this next semester. Y’all, it’s about to get real. The true beauty of a Charlotte Mason Education and, specifically, that of Ambleside Online is the connections students make between the world around them and the literature they study. We love it when we are able to identify these connections but they have been a tad infrequent so far. Until now. Whoa! It is all beginning to make sense. Charlemagne. Little Duke. Corot. Stevenson. Brahms.
We are slated to begin the next semester on Monday and I am thrilled. My son loves finding these connections and he is going to be over the moon when he sees how it all comes together this next semester. Color coded maps from different periods in history? Check! Youtube playlists for composer, hymn and folk study? Check! New art supplies? Check!
Watch out world, the Yoseph Academy is ready for take-off!
